The dandelions in my neck of the woods are currently everywhere and beautiful.  I just love seeing a field full of their yellow blooms.  I know that almost seems unAmerican in our pursuit of weed-free lawns, but I prefer these useful plants to a lush carpet of green grass that serves no real purpose to me.

I’m harvesting the useful plants for a multitude of uses including:

Great ideas — if I had a lawn or field with dandelions, I would definitely try some of these. I think the flowers make quite a pretty carpet mixed in with green grass.

Once again you come to my rescue. My back lawn is full of dandelions, and recently I harvested some for a salad. I was wondering about the roots and now you have answered my question. With all the rain we are having I think it might be perfect time for a harvest and then to roast them. The article didn’t say how long I could store them or how to store them.

I’ve always been curious about Dandelion Root coffee….. I need to give it a try!

I also spotted a recipe at one time for Dandelion Lemonade.

Thank you so much for the links! Lots of reading of those websites in my future!
Dandelions? I’m not seeing any around–I’ll ask my sister in law if she has any in her backyard.
