It’s always interesting to me how the seasonal shifts are felt and experienced here at Two Frog Home. As we settle into the beginning of October, we’re spending more time indoors. Evenings are darker keeping us inside when just a month or ago we would have still be in the garden. Daily activities are switching from gardening, weeding, and watering to preserving, knitting, and stacking wood.
Even the food we eat is changing with the seasons. Soups have returned to the menu, along with biscuits with which to sop up broth (both gluten & non-gluten types of biscuits here at Two Frog Home). There are still plenty of raw salads to be had but the return of soup weather is always welcome by us.
As this month goes on we have leaf raking, apple harvesting, and garlic planting to look forward to outside. Inside we have reading, knitting, and hot cocoa waiting us.
What seasonal shifts are you experiencing at the beginning of October?

Our shift is the opposite–to spend more time outside now that it’s not so impossibly hot. Soon we’ll be able to turn off the AC and fling wide the windows. I can’t wait. I will also be getting back into hot tea and maybe cocoa soon. I kid myself that it’s cooler than it is, because I love a warm, comforting beverage so.
I am truly thankfull for everything we have and a great Lady to share it with
