Seasonal Creative Flow

That chill to the air that signals the setting in of the Autumn season ignites my creative tendencies.  I know I’m not alone in that based on comments from friends and the things I’m seeing on other blogs and on Facebook, etc.

Garlic Gift Bags

It started with something simple – I wanted to send some homegrown garlic to a friend but felt the need to put the garlic in something special.  So I dusted off the sewing machine, pulled out a piece of scrap muslin and ta-da a garlic drawstring gift bag was born.  From there I had the urge to make tote bags with scrap bits of fabric, all in the name of cleaning out the old fabric stash.  Lots of bags have been made, some will be used for gift giving, some for trading, and even a few for selling.

Fall bag

Even the knitting needles and balls of yarn have been pulled from the summer hiding places and put into service.  The seasonal return of those creative juices and projects feels good indeed.

What are you working on creatively these days?  Does your creative juices flow more or differently with the seasons?

No chill in the air here yet, but I can still feel autumn coming all the same. I’ve pulled out knitting needles and yarn and completed one baby hat and have another on the needles. Also working on some knitted washcloths to give with soap for Christmas–these seem to be popular with the ladies in my family. And I’ve started some felt Christmas tree ornaments that can double as gift tags. Fall + nesting = lots of fun. :)
