I spend a good amount of time in the kitchen. Obviously, I prepare meals for Jeff and I there, I do our food preservation work there, I create recipes for freelance articles there and much more.
Recipe creation is something I truly love. It’s a fun process to sit down with pen and paper and play with an idea and then make notes about what I changed as I chopped ingredients and tested the food along the way. Not everything is a success. It’s extremely rare that something turns out completely inedible, but there are plenty of recipes that don’t turn out exactly like I’d hoped and never get shared. Sometimes they get revised, sometimes they simply get forgotten in the pages of my journal.
Creating recipes for Two Frog Home projects tend to be one of my favorite creative kitchen exercises. I work on recipes for classes, the newsletter, and the Homespun Seasonal Living Course. These recipes always hold special meaning to me, there my way of connecting with you all in a special way and well getting me invited into your kitchens, which is a high honor.
If you’ve made any of my recipes over the years, will you take a moment to tell me so, please. I’d love to hear how things work out for you and how you changed them to make the food your own. I’d also love to know what you’d like to see more (or less) of in the future as I work to make Two Frog Home and all of our many projects better.
