Peas

We’ve been spending a bunch of time in the rows of peas lately.

I’m not complaining mind you, we love our peas around here.  The cats love playing around the vines and Jeff and I love eating ‘em.

I blanched and froze most of these and look forward to eating some homegrown summer goodness in the middle of what is likely to be a long Montana winter.

What are you harvesting and preserving these mid-July days?

Awesome pea harvest! We’re done with peas here and have moved on to beans. First time ever I’ve had enough peas to freeze some for winter instead of only eating them on the spot.

It has been exceptionally cool and cloudy here this summer, so my pea vines are really just getting going, but the Broccoli has been fabulous and the cucumbers are huge!
