On Monday, Jeff and I started on the 30 Day Vegan path. I signed up to take Heather’s 30 Day Vegan Workshop. For the record we have no intention of staying vegan forever, but we were both feeling the need for a little cleanse and this seemed a great way to do it. We’d also gotten into a bit of a rut with our meals and this seemed like a great way to break out of that.
We’re obviously just getting started but it was without a doubt a catalyst to try some new things. One of which was the Marinated Sweet Potato and Broccoli Salad from The Moosewood Cookbook. I’ve had this cookbook for years but never tried the recipe before, I’m not exactly sure why. It’s beyond yum.
It’s a good thing, all these new things and ideas. Both Jeff and I are excited about the new foods and truly have already loved everything so much that we can see it all becoming part of the regular meal rotations. That Sweet Potato salad will definitely become a lunch box regular.
Sometimes all we need is to do something a little different to be reinvigorated. A small change, a different choice, and a commitment is all it takes to launch us into something new or find our focus again. I’ve had a lot of ideas brewing in this head of mine, a lot of topics that have not historically been covered broadly here at Two Frog Home, things like my new current passions around healthy eating, exercise (including jogging!), changing lifestyles and much more. I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate all that here with the things I still love like gardening, voluntary simplicity, canning, etc. I’ll hope you’ll stick with me as I navigate incorporating all of me into this blog so that I can share it with you in the coming weeks and months.
In the meantime, care to share your favorite vegan recipe? Any exciting, small changes going on in your life?
