One of the many great things about living a seasonal life is how I enjoy different activities. December nights are full of herbal tea, knitting, reading, and dreaming by the wood stove. They’re not as busy as say nights in August but they’re just as wonderful for their uniqueness.
Let me just encourage you today to take a moment or two to fully immerse yourself in the delights of this season. Take a deep breath, let go of the holiday commitments, wrapping of gifts, baking, etc. and breathe in the cool, dark night air. Allow yourself to revel in the quietness of this season and shine that inner candle brightly for yourself, your family, and your community. Recharge your spirit by letting go of false expectations and settling into a seasonal life that honors your priorities. It doesn’t have to be done in any kind of grand style, rather do it simply and quietly.
How are you enjoying your December nights?
