The thing about the creative process, I’m learning, is that I have to love the process more than the results sometimes. Oh, I love great results, who doesn’t? But often, the results aren’t great or even near what I’d hoped for and sometimes we don’t even get to the results stage because of a great many factors.
These molasses spice cookies for example. They were fun to make, the recipe fun to play with, they weren’t awesome however. They were fairly good the first night right after coming out of the oven. The next day the texture was just off and not something I’d want to share.
Or the cats find my knitting project ruining the process and the results. It’s my fault for not putting away, but still I want to blame the cats. Tearing it out and starting over, gave me the chance to enjoy the process and gave me an idea for a different project and maybe something in which the results will be even better.
What creative processes are you enjoying at the moment?

Cats. They’re too funny! Recently, I was in the midst of crocheting when my cat’s tail caught my yarn when she jumped off the couch. It scared her. Apparently, she thought whatever was after her was going to kill her. She ran up the stairs (in the 5th wheel) into the bathroom and bedroom and back down again into the living room with the yarn still hooked on her tail. Thankfully, I didn’t lose any stitches, but I had an awful lot of yarn to wind back up, lol! We also got a good chuckle from it. (Meanwhile, my cat didn’t think it was very funny at all!)
Currently, I’m working on crocheting two different scarves and wanting to learn how to knit. I’m also trying to figure out how to crochet a fruit hammock (that I saw in Camping World) that will hang from underneath our cabinets in the kitchen. That will take some pondering but I know I can come up with something!
