• Gardening isn’t necessarily work, but can certainly be heaven
• It won’t be long until its cherry season here, and I’ll certainly be making Cherry Cornmeal Upside Down Cake
• Preserving is an art that is close to my heart, and I love reading about how others incorporate it into their busy lives
• Next time you start seeds, try making newspaper pots with old steel cans instead of buying a little, overpriced tool
• I should be harvesting some rhubarb soon, and we have a ton of  birthdays in June so shouldn’t the birthday cake be Rhubarb Cornmeal Cupcakes with Cardamom Frosting?

• I joined the harvest keeper challenge, and look forward to seeing everyone’s results
• The Gee Haw Whimmy Diddle Post just touched me in its simplicity and joy, I bet it’ll touch you too
• Gardeners are such hopeful people

• Voluntary Simplicity is a handmade life not a bought one as so well put in Rhonda at Down to Earth

This week’s favorites in no particular order:

• My love for my grandmothers and bread baking have been well documented so when SouleMama combined both in her kneading board post, well it was destined for this list.
• A natural sunscreen recipe, just in time for a weekend hike
• The biggest trick to making change is getting comfortable
• It’s early yet for me to start canning local fresh fruit, but that doesn’t stop me from drooling over what others are creating
• We’re house hunting and I appreciated the oh-so-funny decorating tips over at Razor Family Farms

As usual, in no particular order:

• Compost as photographic art and beauty
• Weeds as nutrition and creative kitchen & garden expression
• Peanut Sesame Noodles with Tofu - is it dinner time yet?
• As a kitchen and garden lover, this post just struck a deep chord
• We’re always setting saving goals and they do get easier to reach over time because interest grows, but nothing seems as satisfying as reaching that first goal

This week’s favorites in no particular order:

• I’m jealous of folks who are already harvesting wild mushrooms, as I have a few months to go before its morel season.
• The best gifts are ones made of love and given without a timetable.
• Lemon Rosemary Bread, can you say yum?
• 17 Flourless Dessert Recipes… I think that’s 17 weeks worth of experimenting
• I have a love for hankies, and use them often though none quite as lovely as these sweet treasures

This week’s favorites in no particular order:

• My tulips are barely above ground, making me oh so jealous of these beauties
• It’s always good to be reminded to take it one step at a time and do what comes next
• It’s also always good to be reminded about humility
• Apparently, its been a week of reminders for me, because sometimes its best to remember the reasons behind our lifestyle choices
• Finally, just be brave enough to be yourself

• Cupcakes that taste like the orange creamsicles of my youth, yes please
• I love getting outdoors and sometimes just reading and seeing what other folks do when they get outside
• I’ll just be starting some seeds indoors this weekend, but this Soil Block Maker is something I might have to invest in for next year
• I almost hate to ruin this for those who didn’t read it, however; Walter’s April Fool’s Post was the best ever!  I totally fell for it.
• A great reminder that inspiration and do-it-yourself repair can be found anywhere if we just keep looking for it

• As an avid canner, I have to tell you to can what you can
• Living a simple life, can sometimes mean living one less ordinary than the mainstream
• Disposable vs. limited yet meaningful living

• Really, there’s not much more I can say but - Gnocchi with Thyme Vinaigrette and Lemon Cashew Cream
• It’s too early for me to do any planting, but that doesn’t stop me from drooling over what other’s are planting and what they are using for containers
• These cheerful and vintage quilt blocks, are just what the doctored ordered for these early spring days
• I’m a bit jealous of anyone already planting veggie gardens, but had to agree with Patty’s thoughts on vegetable gardening
• The wildlife adventures over at Rurality are just too wonderful - who needs TV when this happens in your yard?
