While I’m still standing firm on my desire to craft a simple holiday, there is still a bit of gift creating going on here at Two Frog Home. As I’ve been assembling care package boxes it’s been fun and incredibly satisfying to see just how much of the gifts have come from our farm.
None of these gifts have really taken a ton of time but all of them include bits of our garden and general way of life. Our care packages include things like:
- Lip balm created from homegrown mint infused honey and turned out mighty nice I might add.
- Small metal tins with homegrown, foraged, & homemade Herbal Healing Salve
- Seeds from heirloom squash and peas saved from our garden
- A lemon ginger sugar scrub was created using some calendula infused olive oil.
There might be some other items in the boxes, Jeff’s homemade beef jerky is highly requested, and sometimes there’s a knitted washcloth or a handmade tote bag, too. In general these care packages aren’t over the top but they contain lots of love for the folks receiving them. There’s something extra satisfying to me knowing that not only does our garden provide for our food but it also provides for our gift giving needs as well.
Do tell please, because I’m always curious, what kind of creating is going on at your house these days?
