It’s been unseasonably warm and rainy here in northwest Montana or rather it had been, until Friday. The incredibly fluffy white flakes started Friday afternoon and continued off and on throughout the weekend. Right now the world around us truly does look like a winter wonderland. I’m quite in love with it all at the moment (feel free to remind me of these words come mid-February).
Over the weekend we took some time to walk around the farm in the beautiful sunlight and just breathe in the beauty that is the first powder of the season. The cats came along too.
We took some time to inspect the beehive, well not really inspect so much as look at it and hope they’re all okay in there.
I have no doubt most folks celebrate the first real snow by skiing or snowshoeing, but not us we just celebrate it quietly at home and well that just seems fitting for our particular of life. We also celebrated with soup and cookies but more about that on another day.

We’re getting cold, nasty rain out here, so I’m envying your snow. Rain may be easier in some ways, but snow’s so much prettier.
Very pretty! That would be the way hubby & I would celebrate as well. That is, if we got snow here! It’s been warm. I’ve been wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts this Winter whereas last Winter I couldn’t get warm enough!
I hope the bees are OK and your cat looks like my Hunter!
aah… snow…. I remember it well…. and miss it like mad at this time of the year! I’ll enjoy it by looking at the pics on your blog!
It’s poooouring rain today, and cookies and soup sound perfect to me. =)
Stay warm!
