A Walk
“Perhaps the truth depends on a walk around the lake”. – Wallace Stevens

I didn’t go the entire way around the lake, it is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi afterall. However, I did take a small walk on a trail above the lake and many truths were revealed, or more accurately made clear once again.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” - John Muir

“A flower’s appeal is in its contradictions – so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.” – Adabella Radici

“Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.” – Rabindranath Tagore

“The poetry of the earth is never dead.” - John Keats

Absolutely beautiful. You are one talented gal.
What a great way to get out during the day- all the “lakes” nearby I could walk around at lunchtime are retention ponds!
Beautiful! It reminds me of the Hood Canal where I used to live in WA. What is the last photo? Gooseberries or something?
They are gooseberries, thanks to the lovely Kristine from Dancing in a Field of Tansy for helping me identify! I was originally thinking they were wax currants which aren’t all that tasty apparently. I was relieved to learn that gooseberries are technically a type of currant so I wasn’t too far off in my ID. These are in a state park and I’m not sure that I can pick them, however; I’m looking into it.
What a beautiful walk! Thanks for taking us along. Love the quotes.
Thank you for recording your walk. One of my pleasures is visiting all the wonderful places my favourite bloggers live in.
