Not Buying It

Not Buying It

Clothing: I have a stack of mending that I need to find the time to get too and soon.

Food: We’ve been eating almost exclusively from our food stores, tomorrow night’s dinner being the only exception and meal we had to purchase ingredients for… sometimes you need something a little different.

Household: Been diligent about washing out & reusing plastic storage bags

Utilities: Longer daylight means less use of lights!  Warmer weather also means fewer fires and wood usage.

Gifts: Had a birthday for Jeff’s granddaughter who’s a teenager, we sent money but I’d really like to find gifts I can make for the teenagers…

Exercises/Self-Improvement: 1) Lots of outdoor work, great for exercise.  2) I went on a spree at the local library’s website recently and have a bunch of books on hold.

Homestead: 1) Working on re-using old tomato cages for snow pea supports, I’m adding twine for the sprouts to climb. 2) We did a bunch of tree pruning – Jeff sharpened his chainsaw himself which saved us money on sharpening and/or a new chain.

Weaknesses: Yard sale season got a huge kick off this week, I bought some books but still only spent $1.50 – books will always be a weakness but at these prices, I’m going to indulge.

Purging: Nada

We’re finding that we just like eating in better than eating out.
