Keeping in Touch
Is the measure of a true friend, one whom would hide you from the Nazis? I admit that’s a huge bar to hold someone up to, but its an interesting discussion none-the-less. I thought about it for a long time, I like to think and believe that I would hide anyone from the Nazis because its the right thing to do. I believe that I’d hide folks who wouldn’t return the favor, because its right not because of any sense of love or friendship. However, I also know that I have friends and family who would hide me because they love me and because its the right thing to do.
I thought about those folks yesterday and realized that I haven’t been in touch as often as a friend should. Last night, I sat down, watched a little TV and wrote many letters to those folks. I’ll mail them later today and hope that when everyone receives those letters they’ll feel the love that I poured into each envelope. While I didn’t specifically tell them in the letter that I’d hide them from the Nazis, I hope they know it any way.
Have you taken the time to remind folks you care about that they are loved? If not, why not do that this weekend? Send an e-mail, an actual letter, or make a phone call, spread the love.

It’s funny you wrote on this subject, because it’s one I’ve thought of many times. And will continue to…thanks for the reminder of what’s important
I agree that the timing is just perfect! I have a few letters on my list of things to do right now!
This topic has been much on mind in the past few days…Thanks for the reminder to reach out and tell people you love them!
I have read a LOT of Holocaust stories and am deeply stirred by each one. I too have thought about what I would have done. Corrie ten Boom’s family were true heroes.
A good reminder here today.
Hi Kathie,
Your Dad and I watched “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas”. I saw it twice. Different view of the Holocaust ..well worth the time to watch.
