100 Things :: # 64 I rarely wear jewelry.
I do like jewelry and when I’m gifted or find a new piece, I wear it exclusively for weeks or months at a time, then I’m done with it and sits in my jewelry box. I will pull pieces out of the jewelry box occasionally and wear them again for different events, etc.; however, its not that often. I wonder, am I alone in this jewelry habit?
My newest bracelet that will be worn more or less constantly for awhile. This sweetie arrived in a care package from my dad and his partner, Paula. Paula makes amazing creations and is an amazing lady, I’m so pleased to wear this treasure.
I found myself doing something very similar a couple years ago so I stopped asking for jewelery. It’s not that I don’t love it but I feel bad that someone spends money on something I will so rarely wear.

Paula’s work looks very familiar. Does she vend at SCA events?
I think she does occasionally though mostly in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia areas at least to my knowledge.
Beautiful braclet! I am the same way Kathie. Some pieces are worn all the time and others for a few weeks and then hide in my jewelry box.
Oh such a pretty braclet! And I am the same way. It is so odd because I was just thinking about this the other night. I love jewelry but rarely wear it. Such as my Grandmother’s ring. She was given it for her 16th birthday and it is our birthstone. And I don’t wear it hardly at all. I think I have worn it once in 6 years. And that made me sad that this piece of history sits in my jewerly box. I have a few other pieces like that.
But I also have another factor to this why I don’t wear jewelry as much – that is because I am allergic to most jewelry.
