Honestly, both Jeff and I suck at woodworking and we don't enjoy it making the process even worse. We tackle it when we have too, but the idea of building a bookcase sounds like pure torture to us both, and is guaranteed to cause a few little arguments. We're patient and it will be yard sale season soon enough... Thanks everyone for the suggestion to build our own bookshelf. My husband built us a bookshelf about a year ago as his first woodworking project, and it turned out great. We were delighted to replace our sagging pressboard & cardboard shelf with the new one.
