Friday Favorites :: 12/5/08 Edition
This week’s favorites in no particular order;
- As our economy changes, can we truly afford Black Friday instead of days building family and community?
- The list maker and journal keeper that I am, loves the idea of Christmas book to keep track of gifts thought of versus gifts given. I think it’d be great to keep one for every occasion including birthdays.
- Total self-sufficiency may not be possible, but it is possible to “become more personally involved in the day-to-day activities of “living.”
- I keep recipes in three ring binders and I’m very OCD about their organization, with that in mind, I love the idea of giving a binder with tabs and a few recipes as a gift for the new bride or for the new scratch cook in the family.
- I may just have to had brown butter brown sugar shorties to my Christmas Cookie list.
PS: You may or may not have noticed that I’ve taken down my favorite reads blogroll. I just wanted to make a quick note saying that its nothing personal but its just something I find difficult to manage and keep updated. I spent a day recently updating it only to find 3 broken links the very next day. I can’t find a way to keep it manageable, but my favorite reads (all of them) are mentioned from time to time in these Friday Favorite segments.

Those cookies sound divine. Hope I can make some soon!
I always enjoy reading your weekly favorites, thanks for sharing.
blogger has a blog roll gadget that only displays a specified number, say 25 out of 50 and lists them the most recently updated first and the last updated won’t even display. it won’t completely solve your problem but it would work for 95% of the links. since an old infrequent blogger would make it to the top only when they update. when they fall dormant so does their link.
