The baby quilt that was started when fall arrived was finished as snow fell Saturday evening:

I think it turned out well and it’s already slated for gifting to some business acquaintances expecting their first grandchild. I have a few other quilts in various stages of “in progress.” I like the piecing process so much more than the quilting process which explains why it takes me so long to actually finish a quilt. However, I really want to improve my free-motion quilting skills and so I must practice and finish more quilts in order to do so.
I worked some more on my knitting for my competence project. I unraveled the beginnings of my work, because there were so many mistakes and dropped stitches. I’m enjoying the process and feel more confident in the motions as I continue to practice. So far this project is mistake-free, though as you can see precious little is actually done.

The weekend was relaxed and full of our usual puttering. There was lots of snuggling and petting.

It’s a short work week followed by a deliciously long weekend. I’m looking forward to the mini-vacation with that man of mine and all the joy and relaxation it brings.
Doing Not Thinking Challenge: I’m still waiting to hear from the publisher that I’ve queried, but December 15th was the original end date of this challenge. If you are participating along with us please be sure to update us on your progress. I’m continually amazed at everything you’ve all done, thanks so much for “doing” along with me.

The quilt looks great! Your learning to knit motivated me to do the same thing so I bought needles last week. Have not started yet – other project have taken priority. =)
I love that bright orange print that looks batiked.
I also really like your “Doing Not Thinking Challenge” idea. I am going to start a food group at my church, and I was thinking that a “Doing” challenge might be a way to get everyone started on some small goal. We can go around the circle at each meeting and verbally give an update about our progress.
I will give you credit for the idea, but I don’t think it will get you much blog traffic from our Luddites. Is that OK with you?
The knitting looks good. Are you using Lamb’s Pride single ply wool?
Your quilt! Oh my! Someday I’ll learn to quilt. I’m in awe. Seriously.
I will post on my Doing not Thinking Challenege progress today (since I now have an entire week off!!!). I have finished all but the one project on the original list and decided not to sew Kiti’s skirt until spring. I added organizing my photos and made a start on them last weekend, BUT. Maybe this week…
I find my kitties are so much more affectionate this time of year. Especially when I’m sitting in a their chair by the woodstove.
Funny that…
Beautiful quilt!
That quilt is glorious!
And is there any more adorable than a big handsome man (not that we can see much of him, but we’ll take your word on the handsome) snuggling a kitty? That’s a darling picture.
Love the quilt, someday I’ll learn
Matriarchy – I’m glad to hear you like the idea behind the Doing Not Thinking Challenge, please feel free to use the idea and adapt it to your own needs/ideas.
Willow – It is Lamb’s Pride, wool/mohair worsted yarn.
Safira – Jeff had just come in from hauling some wood and wasn’t too pleased with how he looked petty Meggy (the hat, messy hair, etc.) so I cropped him out, but do take my word for it, he’s quite handsome
– And no, there’s not too many more adorable things than a big handsome man petting a little kitty.
Thanks to everyone for the quilt compliments.
lovely! i especially love the orange sunflower swatches in the quilt. that baby will be one content, snuggly baby.
