Friday Favorites :: 9/26/08 Edition

by Kathie on September 26, 2008

Honestly, I read such amazing blogs, which often link to other amazing blogs, sometimes its hard to narrow it down to just five.  This week’s favorites in no particular order:

  • A wood cookstove is on my list of wants.  Someday, maybe, I’ll have one, for now I’ll read about how others use wood cookstoves in their daily lives.
  • Any time there’s a sweet kitten photo and story on a favorite blog, I’m reminded that I have to keep an eye on that line between cat lover and crazy cat lady,  I think I could easily slip off into crazy cat land in my older years.
  • It’s always good to remember that being prepared mentally might be more important than being prepared in more tangible ways.
  • I love used cookbooks, especially used cookbooks with the previous owner’s notes written inside, it seems I’m not alone in that and perhaps those notes are what make books Unbelievably Great.
  • As I begin planning for next gardening season, I love fresh inspiration, even when fresh ideas come from the pre-WWII era.

I’m honored to once again be part of Friday Favorites. However, the story now has a sad ending; we lost Evil Junior this morning. I almost deleted the post, but I’ll leave it up.
