Farmers Market

by Kathie on August 19, 2008

I went to the farmers’ market on my lunch break, hoping to find some pickling cukes.  I keep hearing that its a bad year, locally, for cukes but I keep up the search.  I did, however; score some lovely organic yellow carrots and zucchini.  Generally, I don’t buy or even stop at the booths selling cut flowers, its just not my thing.  Today, however the glads caught my eye and I had to take one home or rather back to my office.  Isn’t she lovely?

And it’s your birth flower too! Gorgeous!!

Our cukes aren’t getting pollinized properly, due to the lack of bees… :(

That is a gorgeous glad!

I think we’ve only tried growing them one year, but my aunt grows them quite often and they are so pretty.

I love to plan meals. Like you we eat much better when we plan ahead. Plus it keeps me out of the grocery store which is where everything goes wrong.

Oh, I LOVE glads. I see commentor #1 said they are your birthday flower, so that must mean you are an August baby like me! (I’m pretty sure they are August’s flower.)
