I’m grateful for so many things, these are just a snippet of the many:

The blogging community of friends I’ve built. Words can’t express the joy I’ve gotten from you all. I’m also grateful for the many books that make their way into my lives and when a few books from blogging friends arrive in my mailbox, well that’s just a double blessing. Add books from their own personal collections, inscribed to me, well that’s almost too much of a blessing to describe. The books have been traveling in my lunch bag for a little afternoon reading.

Quiet early mornings turned into rather noisy ones by the grain mill, grinding wheat to feed the sourdough starter and for weekend bread baking. I know its best to grind the wheat right before use, but that just doesn’t always work for me, so I grind it and keep the flour in a can in the refrigerator.

That hard working man of mine. He pruned all those trees and more in just a day or so without any help from me. The branches reached to the ground and were, oh so dry, it was so thick we didn’t truly know how many trees there were until he started cutting. We still need to rake the thick layer of pine needles up, but the trees look better and now the fire danger from any tossed cigarette butts is removed from our front lawn. I’m so very grateful for Jeff on so many levels, I can’t begin to put that into words here.
What are you grateful for today?

I’m grateful that my son just called and is back from fighting wildfire in Northern California. Healthy, wealthy and wiser than before!
I’m grateful that there are blogs like yours that allow me to live, albeit vicariously, the life I long for. Thanks.

I’m grateful for my own husband who is a wonderful example of a great husband and father and grandfather should be. I’m truly grateful for health, enough wealth, and continual opportunities to become wiser.
